The Norwegian Royal Family today stopped in Vardø, in the county of Finnmark in northern Norway, as part of their private summer holiday.
On the trip were Crown Princess Mette-Marit, Crown Prince Haakon, their children Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus, as well as King Harald, Queen Sonja and their daughter Princess Märtha Louise, her husband Ari Behn and the couple’s three daughters, Leah Isadora Behn, Emma Tallulah Behn and Maud Angelica Behn.
When asked about the reasoning behind of the visit to Vardøhus Fortress, the King said,“We can’t just sit back and tell them about history. We have to show it to them, otherwise it gets too boring for the grandchildren”
The family posed for photographs in front of the statue of Haakon VII that is located on the grounds of the fortress.
